Our company organized the Green Alternative Competition for the third time in 2017. The contestants had to prove their creativity with a video in the first round, and with a thematic fashion show in the second, where they used mainly cement sacks and cement.

Green Alternative Competition 2017 - Vác

The Green Alternative Competition and Open Day, Duna-Dráva Cement Kft.’s self-developed creative contest, was held for the third time on the 27^th of April. In the past couple of years high school students living in and around Beremend and Vác had the chance to look behind the scenes of the operation of a cement factory by solving exciting and compelling exercises. The online phase of the multi-round competition consisted of filling a questionnaire about the developments of DDC in the field of environmental protection and producing a creative team video in order to get to the final. The teams reaching the final had to solve tasks regarding bird protection, environmental protection and they had to use their creative skills as well, which were then showcased in a fashion show featuring clothes made of cement sacks and jewellery made of DDC cement.

In the final the team entitled “Cement Moles” from the Boronkay György High School proved to the best, while the second place went to team “Green Király” from the Király Endre High School from Vác. The bronze medal was clinched by another team from the Boronkay György High School, the “Greenpeas”. They all received valuable prizes rewarding their efforts.
